Working to Ensure Nobody Deteriorates Unnoticed

Helping health and care systems recognise deterioration earlier and act before harm occurs.

At These Hands Academy, we do what we do because we care deeply about people. For us, compassion and empathy are not soft values, they are operational principles.

Every system, every pathway and every intervention exists for one reason: to help someone do the right thing at the right moment for another human being.

We work in complex environments, but our focus is simple.

People are not projects. They are lives, families and futures.

What drives us each day is the knowledge that one better decision can change everything.

One earlier intervention.
One avoided admission.
One conversation that restores confidence.

Change one life today.

Then work together to change thousands tomorrow.

Our Values

Rooted in lived experience and co-design, our values guide everything we do.

  • Compassion: People before process

  • Co-production: Listening, learning, action together

  • Courage: Leading change with heart and humility

  • Equity: Fairness and access in everything we do

Our vision is to help people remain in the places they choose to live, by strengthening systems, improving decisions earlier and using technology responsibly to support care.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

Ensure nobody deteriorates unnoticed.

We work to give people a voice that is heard, valued and acted upon.

This means making learning simpler, communication clearer and decisions more confident across health and social care.

We exist to support the people delivering care, equipping clinicians, carers and communities with the skills, confidence and systems they need to act earlier and improve outcomes.

Meet Us

These Hands Academy brings together proactive care training, behavioural insight and technology-enabled systems to recognise deterioration earlier and reduce avoidable hospital admissions.

Our work is shaped by frontline experience in intensive care, where the consequences of delayed decisions are seen every day.

This perspective drives everything we do: strengthening systems so that earlier recognition, confident decision-making and safer care become part of everyday practice.
